Twitter Changes "Trending Topics" Algorithm, Removing Justin Bieber from the List

As Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears battle for the crown of most followers on Twitter, focus is on someone else.   He may not have the most followers, but simply put Justin Bieber rules Twitter.  His worldwide fans litter timelines with fun facts, sightings, personal encounters, and RTs from Beibster himself.  Twitter has created a new algorithm to outsmart Bieber fans and stop the pint-size mogul from trending every day, but can that stop the millions of fans?

For months on end, Bieber has basked in the glory of being among the top trending issues on the social media network.  Amidst celebrity scandals and natural disasters the "Baby" singer has found a permanent home on Twitter's trending list.  For those who have not fully emerged in the world of Twitter, a trending topic is determined by what the users are talking about in real time.

A rep for Twitter commented on their blog, "Twitter is about what is happening right now, and we have recently updated our trending topics algorithm to reflect this.  The new algorithm identifies topics that are immediately popular, rather than topics that have been popular for a while or on a daily basis, to help people discover the 'most breaking' news stories from across the world."

Many people are happy with this new change from Twitter; they are excited to see Bieber gone from the list.  It has become a running joke on Twitter that Bieber trends for months on end.  Jeffrey Crowley of the Crowley Brothers jokingly tweeted, "I love how since his birth (like what, 2 years ago?), Justin Bieber has been a trending topic on twitter haha."  (It should be noted the Crowley Brothers are fans of the young pop star.)
Justin's fans are not taking this new change lightly and are plotting to get the Beibster back trending.  One fan exclaimed, "If you are a real BELIEBER you must have TWIEBER," in hopes to outfox the new algorithm and put Bieber back on the trending list.  Sadly at press time, it seems that Twitter is the victor in this story as it has been a few days since Justin Bieber or any other form of his name has appeared on the trending list.

On the Set: The Secret Behind The Big Bang Theory's Comic Chemistry

It's Luau Day on the set of The Big Bang Theory, with the crew adorned in Hawaiian flower-print shirts and the craft services table boasting a massive spread of island eats. Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard, gets into the spirit as he ambles through a small patch of grass just outside the door of Stage 25 on Warner Bros.' Burbank lot, softly strumming a ukulele ("I keep it around the set," he says with a smile) as he waits for his next scene. Even though they're only 24 hours away from taping an episode featuring special guest star Bob Newhart, it's just another day at the beach for the cast and crew of television's No. 1 comedy.

"We love this show and, even more personally, I love going to work," says cocreator Chuck Lorre. "I genuinely laugh my ass off when I watch this stuff, and every member of this cast will routinely blow my mind and make something magical happen."
That magic is undoubtedly in the air because, in its sixth year, Big Bang is bigger than ever. So far this season, the show has pulled in an average of 18.5 million total viewers per week, making it the No. 2 scripted series on television, behind only the CBS drama NCIS. And on January 10, the Star Trek-centric "Bakersfield Expedition" episode was the first to crack 20 million total viewers, the highest rated half hour in the show's history. "When I hear those numbers, it feels like it's happening to someone else, even though it's happening to us," says Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj. "It's hard to wrap your brain around it because it feels to us on set that things haven't changed. We're the same people and we still work as hard to make the show as good, if not better, over the years."

And it's not just original episodes. On April 18, a repeat beat the once mighty American Idol's live results show in the 18-49 demographic, while six-nights-a-week reruns on TBS frequently outdraw original network programming.

A major contributing factor to this year's record-breaking ratings is a creative resurgence spearheaded by new showrunner Steve Molaro. What used to be a series about socially incompetent geniuses has evolved into a touching exploration of the platonic and romantic relationships between seven best friends. "I don't remember the last time Jim [Parsons, who plays Sheldon] or I had one of those long, brain-wrenching, scientific-jargon speeches," Galecki says. "It's not about that anymore; it's about how they relate to one another, as opposed to how they relate to science."
"We've been having a really strong year creatively, and the show taps into a thing that seems to resonate with people who feel alienated," Molaro says. "That's at the core of the show, and even people whom you would consider popular can relate to that."

Season 6 featured several big, emotional moments, including Penny (Kaley Cuoco) telling Leonard she loved him; the blossoming semi-intimacy between Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik); and the often hilarious growing pains of newlyweds Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch). Even Raj began to get over his fear of women, dating Lucy (Kate Micucci), a web designer with geeky interests similar to his. "It's always exciting to go deeper [into these characters] because it's something new, but all of us here still manage to keep it funny," says Helberg. "My character is 180 degrees different than he was just two seasons ago, but it's all baby steps. It took five seasons for Sheldon to hold Amy's hand and for Howard to get married, so it doesn't come from the urge to be flashy. It's really earned."

Molaro is mum when it comes to revealing the plotlines he's planning for Season 7, but the actors have their own wish lists. "I really don't want to work at the Cheesecake Factory," Cuoco admits. "I just think it would be so funny if Penny became a successful actress." And there are still more family members to introduce, like Howard's father ("At a certain point, when it feels right, that would be exciting," says Helberg) and one of Sheldon's most talked-about relatives: "I think we will meet Meemaw one day," Parsons says. "Maybe the buildup's too much, but I don't think so. We need to see her."

Big Bang's momentum shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. And the presence of a sitcom legend such as Newhart brings an indescribable energy to the show that resonates with Parsons, a longtime fan who still catches repeats of The Bob Newhart Show on MeTV. "There's something about watching those reruns and being able to get perspective on it," Parsons says. "That is classic television — you know because here we are watching it still. It gives me a feeling of rejuvenation walking back on our set after having watched it, and the hope is that maybe you're a part of history, too."

Report: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Break Up

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have broken up, People reports. According to a source, the Twilight stars have parted ways after more than three years of dating.

But don't worry, Twi-hards! The source added that it's likely that Stewart and Pattinson will reunite again.

The couple's current split comes nearly a year after Stewart's affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director was exposed in July. The actress released a public apology to her boyfriend and reunited with Pattinson less than two months later.
Since then, Stewart and Pattinson, who kept their relationship a secret for years, have been more public with their romance. In the past two months, the pair attended the Met Gala together, were spotted holding hands at Coachella and celebrated Stewart's 23rd birthday.

Are Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Over?

Questions continue to swirl around are-they-or-aren't-they-engaged couple Miley Cyrus andLiam Hemsworth. Us Weekly reports that Hemsworth has called off their wedding following an intervention by his brothers, Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth.

"They are definitely over," an unnamed source told the magazine of their most recent split.

This is just the latest report of trouble between Cyrus, 20, and Hemsworth, 23, who became engaged last June after dating on-and-off for three years. Cyrus has been spotted without her 3.5-carat engagement ring multiple times in recent months, during which time she also appeared at several events by herself.

When reports that she had split from Hemsworth first started in early March, Cyrus denied the breakup and said she was "sick of the lies" on Twitter. "I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media," she wrote. "My new music is gonna shut everyone up." Weeks later, she got a tattoo of Leonardo da Vinci's anatomical heart, courtesy of LA Ink star Kat Von D.

A series of tornados have killed dozens of people in the Midwest beginning in mid-May, after which Underwood gave $1 million in concert proceeds to the Red Cross and appeared at Blake Shelton's tribute Healing in the Heartland concert last week.

Brad Pitt on Jennifer Aniston Marriage: I Was Wasting Opportunity

Brad Pitt says he was burnt out from drug use during his marriage to Jennifer Aniston.

Although Pitt doesn't reference his ex-wife directly, in the new issue of Esquire, the 49-year-old actor says, "For a long time I thought I did too much damage — drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. ... But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. ... This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany." Pitt and Aniston, who started dating in 1998, divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage.

Angelina Jolie reveals she underwent a double mastectomy
Pitt has spoken out about his first marriage before. In 2011, Pitt told Parade, "I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic . . . I think my marriage had something to do with it; trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."
Soon after the divorce, Pitt revealed he was dating his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. The couple, who has been engaged since last year, has six children.

What do you think of Pitt's comments?

Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry Crash Wedding Rehearsal

Summer weddings are great and all, but they're even better when the stars crash them.

Longtime pals Robert Pattinson and Katy Perrymade a surprise pit stop at Montecito, Calif.'s San Ysidro Ranch over the holiday weekend, inadvertently showing up at the wedding rehearsal of two strangers, People reports.

Pattinson and Perry — both reportedly single after splits from Kristen Stewart and John Mayer, respectively — appeared in the ranch's main courtyard on Saturday, sitting, talking, and watching the bridal procession. According to one of the rehearsal's guests, Stephanie Sands, it was the bride, Tanya Mayer, who spotted the famous faces.

"Katy and Rob were just sitting next to each other watching the wedding rehearsal in the main courtyard area," Sands told the magazine. "They were dressed very casually."
Tanya Mayer married John Rocotta the following day, sadly, with no surprise appearance from Perry and/or Pattinson.

Jennifer Lopez Introduces TV's Newest Modern Family With The Fosters

What's love got to do with it? Everything! Lesbian couple Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) head a multiethnic family of foster and biological kids on the new ABC Family drama The Fosters (premiering Monday, June 3 at 9/8c). Executive producer Jennifer Lopez made it all happen — and tells us why.

TV Guide Magazine: You're already everywhere. Why add this gig to your crazy-busy life?
Jennifer Lopez:
It's irresponsible not to do TV like this if you get the chance. Like a lot of people, I was raised on idyllic shows like The Brady Bunch and Eight Is Enough. We need to put out the message that a family doesn't need to have one mom, one dad, one dog and a picket fence. A family is about love and acceptance.

TV Guide Magazine: Did you grow up around foster kids?
Lopez:
They were all over the Bronx, but I didn't really understand things then. Now I do. The foster-care system is often portrayed negatively on TV. The Fosters says it's actually a great system that can work beautifully. That was important to me. I also love that our two lead characters are lesbians and it doesn't matter. Their suitability as parents isn't questioned. They're just good people.

TV Guide Magazine: Can anyone relate to this show?
Lopez:
I know I do! When you divorce, like I did, you can't help but think, "I'm so terrible. I really messed up. What's wrong with me?" But at the end of the day, my kids are happy. Their dad [Marc Anthony] loves them. I love them. We accept that things didn't turn out perfect. That's family. It comes in many different forms. You make it work.

A day after they announced they were expecting their first child together, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay have also revealed that they're engaged.

Hallisay proposed in late May while the couple was on vacation in Europe, according to Us Weekly, which reported on Tuesday that Hewitt is around three months pregnant with the couple's child.
"We're so thrilled and happy to start a family," the Client List co-stars told Us.
Hewitt and Hallisay met when they starred together on NBC's short-lived series Love Bites, which was canceled in 2011. They reunited for Lifetime's The Client List and began dating 15 months ago, Us Weekly reports.

Early ‘Hangover 3′ Plot Details: The Wolfpack Really Goes Crazy

Zach Galifianakis talks The Hangover 3 plot Early Hangover 3 Plot Details: The Wolfpack Really Goes Crazy

By this point, most people seemed to have stopped going on about how The Hangover Part II basically amounted to a lackluster replica of its predecessor – and are instead now expressing their hope that the inevitable Part III will bring something new to the comedy table.

Right before Part II hit theaters, director Tod Phillips began discussing his plans forThe Hangover Part III to NOT be “in the same template” as the first two entries in the series. So exactly what shenanigans might The Wolfpack be up to that don’t involve getting outrageously drunk one night, only to wake up to a crisis the next morning as they try and piece together what craziness went down?
Hangover star Zach Galifiankis sat down recently for an interview with Rolling Stone, during the course of which he revealed some information about whatHangover 3 might entail.
The idea of Alan (Galifianakis) being committed in the third Hangover movie doesn’t exactly require a stretch of the imagination. The reason for breaking him out of a prison-like setting is anyone’s guess right now, but it would at least give Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and maybe even Doug (Justin Bartha) something new to do this next time around.
hangover 2 opens at number one Early Hangover 3 Plot Details: The Wolfpack Really Goes Crazy
Assuming this is the direction that Phillips and Hangover 3 screenwriter Craig Mazinare currently headed in with the threequel, it could go either way in terms of quality. On the one hand, it would provide Cooper, Helms, and Galifianakis an opportunity to stretch their comedy skills beyond their ability to react in a (theoretically) hilarious fashion to all the madness going on around them. However, the “prison escape” setup would presumably mean that the main Hangover trio won’t be able to play off one another for a good chunk of the new film, since Galifianakis would be separated from the others – and that has the potential to be either a good or bad thing.
Since we’re at a very early stage of development for the third Hangover movie, it’s easy to be optimistic that the next film will mix the action up more than Hangover 2 did. The problem is that “different” doesn’t immediately translate into “good” – especially when the premise in question sounds more than a bit like the contrived template for an episode of your average sitcom. Or an Ernest movie (see: Ernest Goes to Jail). Or a movie where Galifianakis has ALREADY played a weirdly funny mental patient (see: It’s Kind of a Funny Story).
The Hangover 2 tv spots Early Hangover 3 Plot Details: The Wolfpack Really Goes Crazy

Then again, the whole purpose of the “plot” in any Hangover picture is merely to set the stage for The Wolfpack’s wild antics – be they booze-fueled, chemical-enhanced, or the result of an attempt to “rescue” one of their own. So if you still loved Cooper, Helms, and Galifianakis’ respective characters in Hangover 2 as much as you did in the original, then it probably doesn’t matter too much to you what the “plot” of Part III is. So long as it’s both different AND funny.
So will the film actually go in this direction? Well, those with long memories will recall that it was Galifianakis who originally let slip that The Hangover II would be set in Thailand, way back in 2009. Director Todd Phillips then vehemently denied that rumor…until it was revealed that his denial was an outright lie. I say all that to say: it wouldn’t be all that surprising if we were witnessing history repeat itself.
Don’t be surprised if The Hangover Part III is scheduled for a Summer 2013 release date in the near future.

Jessie J has urged young girls to be proud of their assets after her own body was criticised online.

The Price Tag hitmaker recently uploaded a series of snaps showing off her figure on social networking sites Twitter and Instagram, but was shocked by a flurry of negative comments about her small chest.
She has now taken to the microblogging website to call on her female fans to ignore comments criticising their looks and focus on their best qualities instead.
The singer writes, "So I'm seeing this weird debate on my pictures and people saying 'you have small boobs'. Yes I do and I have very long legs and a small waist and small shoulders and size 6 feet! And I am proud of what I have! All girls should embrace what makes them unique. Stop being so negative about each other! Be proud! Boobs or no boobs!"
