Carrie Underwood Dedicates CMT Awards Performance to Tornado Victims

Oklahoma-born superstar Carrie Underwood keeps giving back to her tornado-ravaged home state.

At Wednesday's CMT Awards in Nashville, Underwood, backed by a 24-member church choir,  will dedicate a performance of her new single, "See You Again," to the Red Cross' recovery efforts, the Associated Press reports.

During Underwood's performance at the annual awards show honoring country music, a prompt on the screen will inform viewers how they can make donations to the Red Cross.

"The choir, I've never done that before, and they just kind of take it to a whole ethereal place," Underwood said Monday night following rehearsal.

A series of tornados have killed dozens of people in the Midwest beginning in mid-May, after which Underwood gave $1 million in concert proceeds to the Red Cross and appeared at Blake Shelton's tribute Healing in the Heartland concert last week.
The CMT Awards will air Wednesday at 8/7c on CMT and CMT.com.
